What you are actually paying for

Four things drive the number.

• Hours on site. A one hour chapel visit costs less than coverage from getting ready to the last dance.
• Crew and gear. One person with one camera costs less than a team running multiple angles, microphones, and lighting.
• The edit. A quick clip takes a fraction of the time that a color graded film with sound design takes.
• What you receive. Longer films, teasers, and extras all add editing hours.

Why the cheapest quote can cost you the most

You get one wedding day, and there is no reshoot. The lowest quotes often mean one camera, no backup gear, poor audio, and a templated edit. If a card fails or the sound drops during your vows, that moment is gone.
